A
Maryland State Highway project required the installation of ADA compliant Detectable
Warning Mats along state route 528 through Ocean City MD. With the assistance of an ATM
sales professional and Manual Rodriguez of Metro Paving, a 6-man work crew installed 840
mats in only 10 working days.
We bid the job
knowing the ATM mats would be installed quickly and easily without disrupting pedestrian
and vehicle traffic too much, Mr. Rodriguez said.
Manual set up three teams of two. Team one
cleaned and prepped the sidewalk surface, team two cemented and applied the mats, team
three placed a wood template over the mat and rolled it down with 200 lbs. of weight.
(Note: The specially designed ATM Tamper Cart was not available at the time.)
Once rolled, the areas were immediately
opened to traffic.
